Power Electronics laboratory is used in studies of technological systems and its modules can be decomposed into a number of components that can be mixed and matched into a variety of configurations. The components are able to connect, interact in some way, by adhering to a standardized interface. Besides reduction in cost (due to less customization and shorter learning time), and flexibility in design, the modularity of this lab offers other benefits such as augmentation (adding new solution by merely plugging in a new module), exclusion and to overcome changing customer demands and to make the manufacturing process more adaptive to change; definitely it combines the advantages of standardization with those of customization. The main areas covered by the modules are those of power semiconductor devices (diode, SCR, TRIAC, MOSFET, IGBT), bridge rectifiers, power supplies, control units, isolation amplifier and amplifiers, transformers, loads, electrical and mechanical instruments, PC interface, DC and AC machines with brake and all the necessary extra equipment to make the whole laboratory complete such as frames, working bench and leads.
