Description
Epi-Fluorescent:
Microscope with Epi-Fluorescence is an optical microscope that uses fluorescence and phosphorescence instead of, or in addition to, reflection and absorption to study properties of organic or inorganic substances. The “fluorescence microscope” refers to any microscope that uses fluorescence to generate an image, whether it is a more simple set up like an epifluorescence microscope, or a more complicated design such as a confocal microscope, which uses optical sectioning to get better resolution of the fluorescent image.
Intensity from a conventional lamp decreases through its life, which means that illumination varies dramatically over time. The lifetime of LED’s far exceeds that of these older lamps, ex. Mercury, Metal Halide, Xenon models and intensity remains broadly constant throughout its life providing a stable, repeatable light source. Some of the many fluorophores excited by the PE-300 Series are FITC, DAPI, Cy3, Auramine, TxRed, mCherry, TRITC, ChR, Hoechst, Cy5, Calcofluor, RFP to name a few.
The award-winning PE-300 Series is a range of LED Illumination Systems for Fluorescence Microscopy, Optogenetics, Electrophysiology and high-speed microscopy applications. It comprises 3 systems providing a solution that covers a range of everyday fluorescence microscopy; from the simple PE-300L/LEDTC or PE-300L/LEDMT (lite versions) through the classic PE-300W/LEDMT or PE-300W/LEDTC (white versions). The PE-300 Series offers:
• High intensity at your microscope sample plane – view and image your samples brighter than ever
• Adjustment of output in 1% steps on all systems – giving precise control whether imaging quickly or for a gentler approach to care for your samples.

The PE-300W/LEDTC white is a compact and simple to use LED illumination unit. It provides a broad spectrum of illumination, covering the excitation bands of common fluorescent stains. Operation is by a remote manual control pod with instant on/off and intensity control from 0-100%. Remote control is available via USB or TTL trigger.
The PE-300W/LEDTC white now delivers DOUBLE the intensity at the microscope sample plane. It allows adjustment of output in 1% steps, giving precise control. The broad spectrum covers everyday fluorophores: DAPI, CFP, Aqua, FITC, TRITC, TxRed, Cy5 and many more. 2018-2019 Meiji Techno America TC-5000 Series Inverted Biological Microscopes 144
Simple to Fit: Direct fit means the CoolLED unit just attaches straight onto the microscope’s epifluoresence port in seconds which is optimized for light output for your microscope.
Simple to Use: Instant On/Off with the ability to optimize intensity and minimize sample damage via the simple desktop Control Pod, really simple to fit and use immediately with less down time for set-up.
DAPI can be excited at either 365nm or 400nm and microscopes typically have a filter set which allows one or other of these wavelengths to be transmitted. To accommodate this, the pE-300white can be specified in one of two waveband configurations to match with the user’s existing filter sets within the microscope.
A microscope which is populated with a number of single band (“SB”) filter sets will typically have DAPI excitation at 365nm and a microscope with multi-band (“MB”) filter(s) has excitation at 400nm. The user can specify the configuration which is appropriate for their microscope.
Power requirements
100-240V a.c. 50/60Hz, 2A

1 band (GYR) at 100% intensity Max 20W
2 bands (BLU & GYR) at 100% intensity Max 38W

The PE-300L/LEDTC is a simple white light LED illumination system that offers intense, broadspectrum LED illumination for imaging most common fluorescent stains.
The PE-300L/LEDTC Light Source can be fitted directly to the microscope or specified with a liquid light guide. The system is a mercury-free alternative that is safer, more controllable, and repeatable than conventional high-pressure gas discharge illuminators. Spectral coverage is from the UV (DAPI excitation) to the Red region (Cy5 excitation). The system is perfect for hospital and regular research laboratory environments and is affordable within consumables budgets.
